Myer Fashions on the Field State Finals are currently being held across the country. Each state finalist wins a trip to the Melbourne Cup Carnival and an invitation to compete in the Myer Fashions on the Field National Final at Flemington on Crown Oaks Day.
The tournament began on the sunny Gold Coast at the 2015 Jeep Magic Millions RaceDay in January. The Magic Millions is the world’s richest incentive-based raceday, offering $4.7 million in prizemoney. In 2016, the Magic Millions will become Australia’s richest race day with the carnival set to be worth $10 million.
The Fashions on the Field winners were right on the money with Lauren Walker taking the Sunshine State’s crown in a graphic print Clover Canyon dress. Lauren’s feathery electric pink and hot mandarin topper was created by her milliner mum Desley Walker. “Mum made my one-of-a-kind hat and helped me style so I’ll be taking her along to Melbourne with me,” Walker said
In the dapper dudes department Bart Barden won man of the match in a scrubbed up bow tie and RM Williams ensemble.
The next filly out the gate was Launceston’s Bernadette House at The Hobart Cup in an elegant beige and cream ensemble. Proving that old school style is reachable on a budget, House got her dress from nanna retailer, Noni B and her hat was made by a neighbourhood milliner. The Tassie gal conveyed polished grace and deserved to take the state title.
Tasmania’s winner and Queensland couldn’t me more different. South Australia is up next on Monday 9th at the Adelaide Cup.
Frock up ladies and showboat your Southern style. Sydney, Perth and Melbourne, the bar has been set high, get ready to soar.
