Race Wear Inspo: What to wear to Melbourne Cup this year

Desperately needing some inspiration when it comes to your spring carnival look? We’ve rounded up the best of the latest trackside styles.  Winner’s circle here we come.

The Everest was the richest turf race in the world hosted in Sydney earlier this month. Style superstars hit the track in baby blues and subdued hues with a smattering of frills and floral.

Queen bee, Kate Waterhouse was pretty in pastel blue and style princess Nadia Fairfax channelled her inner pirate.

For those who defied the muted tones, D&G inspired bold bright florals reined supreme with flowery headpiece crowns. There’s no fading into the background with these prints.

The Emmys red carpet provided some invigorating ideas for race-ready outfits. With every scheduled arrival, each attendee one-upped the last genuinely spectacular fashion. Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Laura Dern—each in a uniquely stunning get-up—walk the red carpet as a Big Little Lies crew? Wow.

Reese Witherspoon’s suit dress by Stella McCartney teamed with a boater? Spring carnival perfection.

With shorter hems, many of the Emmy dresses could easily translate to the track featuring unexpected colour, beading and unique detailing.

For the fashion forward more unconventional chick, Petta Chua, fashion editor at Vogue recently curated a killer collection that fits the bill.

It’s not too often you get the chance to be ultra glam, so don’t hold back, go for it! Make your outfit eye catching, individual and fun but make sure you feel comfortable!

See you trackside!

Note to self: This year, comfy shoes and dress that I can sit down in without losing breath.
